Charles W. "Chuck" Fricke
Charles W. "Chuck" Fricke
is the son of Armin E. and Vivian Fricke, prior owners of the funeral home
(1952-1980). He graduated from
Lincoln
Community High School in 1969 and received the honors of salutatorian from
Chicago Worsham College of Mortuary Science and the University of Illinois in
Business Management. Chuck served as President of the Illinois Funeral
Directors Association (1983-1984), Chairman of the Illinois Funeral Directors
Credit Union, and founding member to its Pre-need Trust Department. Chuck
was appointed by Governor Thompson to the Illinois and National Funeral
Directors/Embalmers Examiners Board. He received his EMT-A license in 1973
and served as the Mt. Pulaski Emergency Service Disaster agent for 8 years.
Chuck was editor to the Mt. Pulaski Sesquicentennial History Book in 1986 where
he also served as President of the Mt. Pulaski Chamber of Commerce. He
recently retired as Logan County Coroner in the fall of 2004. He has been
a partner in Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home from 1981 to present.
His hobbies include golfing, scuba diving, karate, white water rafting,
traveling and working out at the Lincoln Recreational Center. His current
priorities are his two grandchildren, Benjamin and Jackson Fricke, and he is a
member of the Christian Church.
